A motorcyclist is fighting for his life after a crash with a tractor.

The collision happened on the A947 between Oldmeldrum and Fyvie in Aberdeenshire at 10.35am on Saturday.

A 50 year-old man, who was driving a black Suzuki motorbike, was airlifted to hospital after the smash, which also involved a grey tractor with a blue trailer.

The motorcyclist was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "A male motorcyclist has sustained, serious, life-changing injuries."

The tractor driver was uninjured and the road was closed for six hours.
