Woman arrested over 'abuse' of snake in Aberdeen street
Police and animal charity called after video circulated on social media.
A teenager has been arrested over the alleged abuse of a snake in an Aberdeen street.
Police were called after a video began circulating on social media allegedly showing a woman waving the boa constrictor in the air and repeatedly throwing it to the ground.
On Wednesday evening police confirmed an 18-year-old woman had been charged in relation to alleged animal cruelty.
She will be reported to the procurator fiscal and will appear at court a later date.
Sergeant Jonathan Spence said: "Enquiries were carried out involving police and the Scottish SPCA and we are grateful to members of the public who have assisted."
The snake died on Wednesday afternoon, and a postmortem has been carried out.
