Three men have been arrested after a man was allegedly slashed in the face at a high-rise block of flats.

Emergency services were called to Lansdowne Court in Dundee at 5am on Wednesday.

A 53-year-old man was taken to Ninewells Hospital with serious injuries. He has since been released.

Three men, who are believed to be known to the victim, have been arrested in connection with the alleged attack.

Officers are standing guard outside the tower block.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police Scotland is currently in attendance at Lansdowne Court, Dundee, in response to a disturbance which took place about 5am this morning.

"Three men have been arrested in connection with the incident.

"Enquiries are continuing and there will be a police presence in the area for the foreseeable future."
