A major police investigation in connection with drugs and stolen property is under way at a farm in Aberdeenshire.

Officers are carrying out a large-scale search of the premises farm in Drumdelgie near Huntly as part of a "proactive enquiry".

Police began their investigation on Saturday morning and have thanked the public for their patience.

They say it could take them two to three days to complete the search.

Several cars, motorcycles and waterskis were loaded onto recovery vehicles as part of the operation.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "North East Division are currently carrying out a search of farm premises on the outskirts of Huntly as part of a proactive enquiry in connection with drugs and stolen property.

"It is likely a police presence will remain in the area for for a number of days due to the scale of the search and thank the public for their patience."
