A body has been found in the search for a missing man in Crieff.

Martyn Cruckshank was reported missing on Monday and extensive searches have been ongoing in the Crieff and Comrie areas since.

Police have now confirmed that a man's body was discovered during a search for the 42-year-old on Saturday.

Formal identification is yet to take place, however Mr Cruickshank's family have been made aware of the find.

Inspector Ged Fitzpatrick said: "Our thoughts are with Martyn's family at what will be an extremely sad and difficult time.

"At this point I would like to thank the members of the public who have assisted with our searches and to all those who have shared our appeals for information. Missing person enquiries can be complex and the support we get from the public is always appreciated."
