A police officer has been injured after a motorbike and a lorry crashed at a roundabout.

Emergency services were called to the Haudagain roundabout in Aberdeen at 11.40am on Wednesday.

The male rider was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary but his condition is not yet known.

The roundabout is blocked while investigations are being carried out.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "There is congestion in the area due to the collision and motorists are advised to use alternative routes."

Major delays are being caused and public transport has been diverted.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman added: "We received a call at 11.37am to attend a road traffic collision at the Haudagain Roundabout in Aberdeen.

"We dispatched one ambulance to the scene and transported one male patient to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary."
