A man has been arrested after armed police were called to a 20-hour siege in Dundee.

The 27-year-old allegedly barricaded himself inside a house on Ann Street while threatening to harm emergency service workers.

Ambulance and fire crews were also called following the alert at 3am on Sunday.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "A 27-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with a disturbance at a property in Ann Street, Dundee, on Sunday.

"A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.

"Police Scotland would like thank the public, in particular the local community and residents for their co-operation and patience whilst this incident was ongoing."
