A man has been left in a critical condition after the car he was driving crashed into a tree in Perthshire.

The 22-year-old was driving a green coloured Landrover Discovery between Kenmore and Aberfeldy on the A872 when the collision took place at around 4.20pm on Saturday.

The car, which contained three passengers, left the carriageway and collided with a tree leaving the driver with serious head injuries.

Emergency services attended and he was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where medical staff describe his condition as critical.

Officers investigating the incident are now appealing for information to establish the full circumstances.

Anyone who witnessed the accident or saw the green coloured Landrover Discovery is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101.
