Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenage boy was left with a facial injury following an assault in Dundee.

The 15-year-old was taken to Ninewells Hospital after the attack that took place on Spey Drive at around 5.45pm on Friday.

Investigating officers say they are following a positive line of enquiry and are keen to trace a man and woman who they believe may have witnessed the incident.

The man was wearing a white T-shirt and had stopped his car at the junction of Deveron Terrace /Spey Drive and said he was not from this area.

The woman, who had shoulder length bobbed hair, handed the injured boy a £5 note that he had dropped in the street during the assault.
