A pedestrian has been seriously injured after being hit by a car in Aberdeen.

Emergency services were called to Great Northern Road at 6.30am on Friday.

The woman was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where her condition is described as serious.

Police have closed the road to Burnett Place while investigations are carried out.

Diversions have been put in place.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed officers were still at the scene and warned there would be no access to the drop-off area for Kittybrewster School.
