A family of four all received medical treatment after a blaze ripped through their home.

Firefighters raced to Moyness Park Drive in Blairgowrie, Perth and Kinross, at 2.28am on Tuesday after a blaze broke out in an upstairs bedroom.

Two adults and two children were rescued before being treated at the scene.

Firefighters spent more than two hours putting out the flames and dampening down the flames.

A spokeswoman from the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service said: "We sent two appliances to the fire at Moyness Park Drive.

"Two adults and two children were treated for smoke inhalation and left in the hands of the ambulance crew who attended. The fire crews left the incident at 4.52am."

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "We received a call at 2.41am on Tuesday to attend a house fire in Moyness Park Drive, Blairgowrie.

"One ambulance was dispatched to the scene and four patients were checked out and treated on scene by our crews. No-one required to be taken to hospital."
