RAF Lossiemouth personnel to march in Elgin after Afghanistan tour
Airmen will be saluted by the Duke of York as they travel through the town on Friday.
More than 130 RAF Lossiemouth airmen have marched through Elgin to mark their return from Afghanistan.
Personnel from the 5 Force Protection Wing were saluted by the Duke of York as they travelled through the town on Friday.
The 5 Force recently returned from a six-month tour of duty in the Middle East, where they provided ground security for airfields.
RAF Lossiemouth station commander, group captain Mark Chappell, said: "It is a great pleasure to welcome home 5 Force Protection Wing.
“The wing should be immensely proud of their efforts to defend Camp Bastion.
“This parade highlights the positive relationship the station has with the local community and will be a memorable event for all to attend.”
The Duke, who is honorary air commodore of RAF Lossiemouth, visited the base in March to witness the disbandment of 617 “Dambusters" Squadron.
