The key questions surrounding the EU referendum will be addressed on Tuesday evening in an STV documentary.

Everything You Wanted to Know About the EU (But Were Too Afraid to Ask) will be broadcast on STV at 10.30pm.

The programme, which is presented by the channel's political editor Bernard Ponsonby, uses a mixture of archive footage and contemporary interviews to explore some of the hot-button issues of the referendum.

The documentary also deals with the potential political and constitutional issues created by Scotland voting to remain in the European Union but the UK as a whole voting to leave.

One of those who attempts to theorise the consequences for Scotland in such a situation is SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon.

To chart the creation of the organisation a wealth of archive footage is used in the production.

A total of eight British prime ministers appear in the documentary including a speech by Winston Churchill on European integration from 1948.
