Jeremy Corbyn has announced he will order his MPs to vote to begin Brexit.

Ahead of a visit to Glasgow on Friday, the Labour leader told Sky News that if the Supreme Court says MPs must vote to trigger article 50 then he will instruct his MPs to vote in favour.

Corbyn said his party will respect the decision of the British people.

The Labour leader said: "It's very clear the referendum made a decision that Britain is to leave the European Union.

"It was not to destroy jobs and living standards or communities but it was to leave the European Union and have a different relationship in the future.

"I have made it very clear that the Labour Party accepts and respects the decision of the British people. We will not block Article 50."

When asked if he would impose a three-line whip, he replied: "It means that all Labour MPs will be asked to vote in that direction next week or whenever the vote comes up."

Supreme Court judges will deliver their verdict on Tuesday.

The UK Government is appealed to the court that the Prime Minister should be able to trigger article 50 without needing the approval of MPs.
