Fresh allegations of misconduct have been made against a senior police officer.

Suspended assistant chief constable Bernard Higgins is the subject of two investigations by the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner.

Two further allegations of misconduct have now been referred to the watchdog.

They are not connected to the investigations which are already under way.

The watchdog is also carrying out three investigations into allegations against chief constable Phil Gormley.

Mr Gormley stepped aside in September and both he and Mr Higgins deny any allegations of wrongdoing.
