Donald Trump has Tweeted that he is in Scotland for "two days of meetings, calls and hopefully, some golf."

He arrived at his Turnberry golf resort in Ayrshire on Friday and is expected to stay until Sunday as protests continue across Scotland.

The President posted that the course was "incredible" and that golf was his "primary form of exercise."

Minutes later he Tweeted attacking the Obama administration and questioned the role of the "Deep State".

Trump's organisation purchased the Turnberry resort in 2014.

Demonstrations are being held in most large UK cities this weekend, as well as at Turnberry and Trump International in Aberdeenshire.

A national demonstration is taking place at the Scottish Parliament followed by a "Carnival of Resistance" at the Meadows in Edinburgh.

A Tweet posted on the President's account said: "I have arrived in Scotland and will be at Trump Turnberry for two days of meetings, calls and hopefully, some golf - my primary form of exercise!

"The weather is beautiful, and this place is incredible! Tomorrow I go to Helsinki for a Monday meeting with Vladimir Putin."

He later posted a tweet referring to indictments issued against 12 Russian intelligence agents accusing them of hacking the Democratic party's email servers.

The President Tweeted: "The stories you heard about the 12 Russians yesterday took place during the Obama Administration, not the Trump Administration.

"Why didn't they do something about it, especially when it was reported that President Obama was informed by the FBI in September, before the Election?"

He continued: "Where is the DNC Server, and why didn't the FBI take possession of it? Deep State?
