Car overturns in two-vehicle crash on A720 Edinburgh City Bypass
One person was taken to hospital for treatment following the smash.
One person has been taken to hospital after a car overturned in a collision on the Edinburgh City Bypass.
The two-vehicle crash occurred on the A720 at around 6.20am on Monday, emergency services said.
Police Scotland confirmed it was forced to shut the busy route eastbound at Lothianburn, Midlothian, as a result of the smash.
A force spokeswoman said police remained at the scene of the incident before the road reopened shortly before 8am.
Diversions via the Lothianburn slip-road were put in place by police.
The Scottish Ambulance Service said it had taken one casualty in the collision to hospital after receiving reports of a car on its roof on the A720.
The extent of the person’s injuries and their condition as a result of the crash is not yet known.
