Beckham-mania hit Glasgow as hundreds turned out to see the world's most famous footballer arrive in Scotland. David Beckham flew in with his fellow AC Milan superstar footballers for a glamour friendly against Rangers at Ibrox.
While the day started calmly at Glasgow Airport, things changed rapidly. Around half an hour before the flight from Milan touched down, there was frenzied excitement as the word spread the players had arrived.
Most were here to see Beckham.
A scrum ensued as the team made their way through the airport to their bus.
While there did seem to be more journalists and security in the airport than fans, it was a media scrum the likes of which are rarely seen in Scotland.
At the hotel, he gave his first interview - to stv news. Asked how it had been today, he said: "It's been good so far, though - thank you."
As for how it feels to be in Scotland, he replied: "Great, thank you."
With all the chaos and excitement of his arrival in Scotland, it is almost possible to forget that he is actually here to play football when the AC Milan superstars take on Rangers at Ibrox.
