Scotland's biggest computer games festival opens in Dundee
The Dare ProtoPlay festival will allow members of the public to try out the latest computer games for free.
**Scotland's biggest free computer games festival comes home to Dundee on Friday. **
Taking place over three days in the city's Caird Hall the Dare ProtoPlay festival will allow members of the public to try out latest computer games for free.
On show will be 15 games produced by developers from around the world, who are fighting for a video games BAFTA in the Dare to be Digital game design competition run by the Abertay University.
A professional gamer tournament run on high-end Intel machines, game jams with professionals and youngsters building new games from scratch, industry talks and a showcase of the latest games from companies like Blitz Games Studios, Crytek and Sony are all taking place over the festival.
It is also the culmination of nine weeks of game design by 15 student teams competing in Dare to be Digital, a leading competition in the field.
