Gang of youths hurl brick at lorry from M80 flyover

A brick was launched at a passing lorry on the M80 from a flyover by a gang of youths.
The incident took place at around 8pm on Monday, January 23, when a group of youths believed to be on the flyover before junction 7 at Haags, near Falkirk, struck the fully-laden HGV with a brick.
The lorry was damaged but the driver was able to stay in control of the vehicle and pull on to the hard shoulder.
Inspector Andrew Thomson from the Divisional Road Policing Unit said: "This type of reckless behaviour is extremely dangerous and has potential fatal consequences for motorway road users.
"This brick thrown onto the motorway could very easily have went through the window of this vehicle, causing a catastrophic collision.
"Anyone found acting in such a manner will be robustly dealt with by police and the court system."
