Teenager dies after collapsing during O2 Hogmanay club event
The 19-year-old man was found unconscious in the popular Glasgow venue.
A teenager died after collapsing at a Hogmanay dance event in Glasgow, police said.
The 19-year-old, named locally as Lee Kelly from the Gorbals area, was found unconscious at 4am on January 1 at the O2 Academy in Eglinton Street.
He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he died two days later.
A police spokeswoman an investigation is now under way and a post-mortem examination will be held to determine the cause of death.
Friends were paying tribute on Facebook following his death.
Debi Dawson wrote: "Rest in peace fella. Definitely be missed loads xxx."
The O2 was hosting GBX Anthems on Hogmanay, a club event organised by Clyde 1 DJ George Bowie.
