An audiovisual show in an iconic ruined building will kick off Scotland's first national Festival of Architecture.

Launching on Friday, the festival will be introduced with a show in the ruins of St Peter's Seminary in Cardross.

Over ten days the structure will be the backdrop for an elaborate light and sound show, including specially composed music.

The building will be open to the public, with local residents being given a preview on Thursday evening.

The seminary was completed 50 years ago and its radical design led to it being acclaimed as one of the greatest modernist buildings in Europe. It is one of the World Monuments Fund's most endangered cultural landmarks.

It was created as a facility to train priests for the Catholic church but changes to the way the training was carried out led to the building falling into disuse after only 13 years.
