A motorcyclist remains in a critical condition in hospital after a crash with a bin lorry at the weekend.

The 26-year-old rider of a Suzuki motorcycle suffered serious injuries after the collision at a roundabout in the south side of Glasgow on Saturday.

The crash happened at 4.15pm at Braidcraft Roundabout on Braidcraft Rd in the city's Pollok area. The motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Medical staff describe his condition as critical. The 51-year-old driver of the Glasgow City Council refuse truck and his two male passengers were not injured. No other vehicles were involved.

The road was closed for around four hours. Police said on Monday that noone has been arrested or charged over the incident.

Chief inspector David McKenzie, from Road Policing West, said: "The surrounding area would have been busy around the time of the incident and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed what happened to get in touch.

"Anyone with information can contact officers on 101 or alternatively you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence."
