A woman was indecently assaulted in a late-night attack at a rail bridge.

The 39-year-old victim was walking with a man in Glasgow city centre on Tuesday night when he assaulted her.

The attack happened at around 10.40pm on Oswald Street at the King George V bridge. The man left the scene and the woman reported the incident to police.

Officers have launched an investigation and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We can confirm police are investigating an indecent assault which occurred within Glasgow City Centre on Tuesday.

"Around 10.40pm a 39-year-old woman was walking along Oswald Street at the George V bridge in the company of a man who subjected her to an indecent assault.

"The man then headed east along the Broomielaw and the woman reported the incident to the police.

"Officers are currently carrying out enquiries, including examining CCTV footage. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact officers at Stewart Street CID on 101."
