Dog walker and friend attacked with weapon by group
A 45-year-old was taken to Inverclyde General Hospital after the assault in Greenock.
A man has been taken to hospital after he was set upon by a group of men and women.
The 45-year-old was walking his dog with a friend in Greenock, Inverclyde, on Sunday night when the gang attacked. The pair had been talking to the group at a bus stop on Kilmacolm Road at about 10.40pm.
The victim was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital where three cuts on his head received stitches after he was struck by a weapon, believed to be a blade or a hammer.
His 48-year-old friend was also assaulted by the group but escaped serious harm.
Detective inspector David Wagstaff said: “The two men were attacked for some unknown reason. We would like to hear from anyone who saw the attacks or knows anything about them.”
