A Scottish man has died after a crash with a lorry while he was cycling on a Spanish island.

Graeme McGilvray, 49, from Glasgow, died on Tuesday afternoon after a collision on a mountain road in Alcudia on Majorca.

He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on a roundabout on a road between Alcudia and Port Alcudia.

Emergency services attended and an investigation has now been launched by Spanish police to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A spokesman for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office said: "We are providing support and consular assistance to the family of a British national who died in Majorca on Tuesday. It would be inappropriate to comment further."
