US presidential hopeful Donald Trump will reopen his flagship Scottish hotel next month with one of the UK's most expensive rooms.

The revamped and renamed Trump Turnberry will feature luxury suites costing almost £3500 per night for bed and breakfast.

Located at the famous golf course that last hosted the Open Championship, the hotel will also feature a room allowing guests to stay in the 1878 Turnberry lighthouse.

The conversion of the lighthouse - which became fully automated in 1986 - into a hotel space has been part of a multimillion-pound revamp of the complex.

It will also feature a two-bedroom suite, while guests will share part of the lighthouse with passing golfers who will be able to use it as a halfway house on the 9th hole of the championship Ailsa course.
