Three men have been arrested in connection with a mass brawl on a busy city centre street.

Police and emergency services were called to Glasgow city centre at around 4.10pm on Friday after reports of a large scale disturbance between young men.

Officers said between ten and 12 "male youths" were involved in the altercation on Buchanan Street which left three teenagers injured.

Two of those involved, a 15-year-old and an 18-year-old, were treated for wounds by ambulance crews following the incident. One was then taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and the other to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Three men have now been arrested in connection with the incident and are expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Three men, aged 18, 19 and 20, have been arrested in connection with the incident. Reports will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

"Officers would like to thank members of the public for their assistance in this investigation."
