Detectives hunting a gunman after shots were fired at a family home have returned to the scene to speak to members of the public.

A major investigation was launched after the house in the upmarket suburb of Clarkston, East Renfrewshire, was targeted in the early hours of Friday, June 24.

Those responsible shot through the living room window of the house on Dorian Drive at around 12.05am, leaving it extensively damaged and laden with bullet holes. STV News understands a shotgun was used.

Police were called to the scene shortly after and the street was sealed off while investigations got under way.

Officers confirmed the 49-year-old male householder and his two daughters, aged 20 and 25, were in the house at the time of the attack.

A week on from the shooting, officers revisited the scene to speak to people in the area.

Detective sergeant Dougie Stevenson, of Pollok Police Office, said: "Officers went back to the scene late last night and early on Friday morning and spoke to a number people to try and find out more information about the shooting.

"Whilst the response from the public was useful we still need people to come forward with information.

"I would ask locals or those who are usually in the area to think back to just before and after midnight between last Thursday and Friday - the night of the EU referendum - and if they recall witnessing anything suspicious in the area to contact the police.

"This could include anyone or any car seen in suspicious circumstances, one that wasn't common to the area, or any car driving off erratically or at speed immediately following this incident.

"Local CCTV is being examined and I would like to reassure the local community that extra police patrols will remain in the area in the meantime."

"Witnesses with information should contact Pollok Police Office via 101."
