The family of a father who was found dead as he made his way back from T in the Park have said he has a "special place in their hearts".

James Richardson, from Craigneuk, Wishaw, was found dead near the A9 in Perthshire on July 12 after the festival at Strathallan Castle.

Mr Richardson's funeral will be held in his home town on Friday.

The 29-year-old's family had reported him missing when he failed to return home after the event.

The Police Investigations & Review Commissioner (Pirc) is investigating the initial police response to the missing person report. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

In a statement issued by Pirc ahead of the service, Mr Richardson's family said: "We lay our beloved son, husband, father, brother and uncle to rest. Jim was a loving husband and father and will be hugely missed by all his family.

"He will never be forgotten and will always have a special place in our hearts.

"We would like to say thanks for all the tremendous support we have received from friends, family and the local community, which has been of enormous comfort to all of us at such a difficult time."
