Three people have been rescued after a blaze broke out at a block of flats.

The fire was reported on Neil Street in Greenock around 10.30am on Saturday.

A fire service spokeswoman said there was a "well developed" fire on the second floor of the four-storey building.

Firefighters used breathing gear and hose jets to tackle the flames.

Paramedics gave precautionary check ups to three adults who helped out of the building.

Fire crews remained at the scene towards midday.
