Delays to rail services caused by damaged overhead wires at Glasgow Central station will carry on throughout Thursday, ScotRail said.

Dozens of services were affected by the disruption, which began on Thursday morning.

The fault involves five platforms and at 3pm on Thursday the operator said it would be repaired overnight.

Commuters have been advised to expect delays or cancellations for the rest of the day.

Customers travelling between Motherwell, Cambuslang and Glasgow Central are advised to travel on services operating to Anderston, Milngavie and Dalmuir.

Anyone travelling from Bellshill and Uddingston to Glasgow Central should use services between Edinburgh and Glasgow Central.

A limited bus shuttle service runs between Motherwell and Cambuslang via Bellshill and Uddingston and ScotRail tickets can be used on selected city services. .

Refunds can be claimed with a valid ticket on the ScotRail website.
