A Glasgow cinema has reopened after a power cut saw customers evacuated in pitch darkness at the weekend.

Cineworld apologised after the 18-screen complex on Renfrew Street suffered a complete blackout on Saturday evening.

Cinema-goers later took to social media to complain of being left to walk down "pitch black" fire escapes during the incident.

The cinema building, said to be the world's tallest, was closed for two days to allow work to be carried out on its emergency lighting system.

On Monday night, Cineworld announced that the cinema had reopened and apologised to customers, offering full refunds via their customers services number on 0333 003 3444 for anyone who was affected.
