A passenger threatened to push a woman on to a Glasgow Subway track during an incident at Cessnock station.

The man gestured towards his victim before threatening her during the incident at about 6.55pm on July 1.

British Transport Police said the 48-year-old woman left the platform quickly after the incident.

Constable Brian Kelly said: "The woman was obviously left shaken by this incident and, although the man didn't actually physically touch her in any way, she felt very threatened.

"I urge anyone who saw the incident, or who might have more information, to contact us immediately."

The man was white and in his 40s or 50s. He was around 5ft 5in, of medium build and had short greying hair.

He was wearing a light jacket, a blue and white striped jumper and blue jeans.
