Police have spoken to more than 600 people as part of a major search for a man missing from his home for two weeks.

William McKenna, 39, was reported missing on Saturday July 16 after he was seen outside his home in Dalmuir, West Dunbartonshire.

Police say it is believed there was a further sighting of Mr McKenna, a keen dog walker, outside the house on Durban Avenue three days later.

Police Scotland launched a major operation in the area, stopping cars and speaking to pedestrians on Dumbarton Road.

Mr McKenna is described as white, around 5ft 10in tall and of medium build with short brown hair. When he was last seen he was wearing a light coloured top, grey hooded jacket with orange flecks at the collar and light grey tracksuit trousers.

He is known in the local community as a keen dog walker and owns a Staffordshire bull terrier cross-breed called Zak. The dog was found at home after William was reported missing.

Inspector David Quinn, from Clydebank Police Office, said: "I would like to thank everyone we spoke to for their co-operation. Officers are looking through the details gathered and we will follow up any information gained.

"William's family are distraught at not knowing where he is and I would urge anyone who has further information about his whereabouts, or information that may assist this enquiry to contact the team at Clydebank Police Office on 101."
