Pair held over 'knifepoint robbery' at McDonald's restaurant

Two men have been arrested in connection with a knifepoint robbery at a McDonald's restaurant.
The fast food outlet at the Showcase Leisure Park in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, was allegedly held up in the early hours of Thursday July 14 by a masked man.
Officers found the McDonald's till in waste ground near to Sharp Avenue at 4.50am after receiving reports of people acting suspiciously.
Detectives have now arrested a 49-year-old man and 39-year-old man over the incident. They are expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court.
A statement from Police Scotland said: "Further to our previous appeal regarding an alleged robbery at McDonald's in the Showcase Leisure Park on Thursday July 14, please note:
"Two men, aged 49 and 39, have been arrested in connection with the incident. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
