Emergency services are in attendance at a serious road crash on the A737.

The incident happened at around 6:40pm on Wednesday on the Beith bypass, north Ayrshire.

Police, fire and rescue and ambulance teams were all in attendance.

The road was shut in both directions, with local diversions put in place.

There were no details of any casualties available.

A police spokesman said: "A road closure is in place at the moment due to an ongoing incident involving a road traffic accident."
