Detectives investigating a fatal motorcycle crash have urged the driver of a learner car to come forward.

A 32-year-old man died after his motorbike is believed to have clipped a car travelling in the same direction in the south side of Glasgow on Thursday, August 4.

The motorcyclist died at the scene and the 52-year-old driver of the Ford Galaxy involved was not injured.

The crash happened at around 8.15pm on Albert Drive, close to its junction with Matilda Road, in Pollokshields, and resulted in the man being thrown from his Suzuki bike.

Officers have now appealed for the driver of another car travelling in the opposite direction to contact them.

The car was a small, silver hatchback with a learner driver sign on the roof.

A statement from Police Scotland said: "Enquiries carried out by officers have revealed that a small, silver coloured hatchback car, with a learner driver vehicle roof sign, was travelling on Albert Drive in the opposite direction.

"Officers are appealing to the driver or occupants of this car to contact them as they may have information which could assist the investigation.

"Anyone who has any information is asked to contact officers at the Road Policing Unit in Govan via 101."
