Former Rangers player Kyle Lafferty is facing a driving ban after admitting a charge of speeding.

The 28-year-old pleaded guilty to driving at 47mph on Paisley Road West, a 30mph road, in May this year.

At Glasgow Justice of the Peace Court on Tuesday, Lafferty admitted the charge through a lawyer's letter.

The Northern Ireland forward, who now plays for Norwich City FC, was not present in court or represented at the hearing.

Sentence was deferred until next month as it was heard Lafferty was due to be disqualified through the totting up of points on his licence.
