Motorists were hit with major delays on the M8 due to a three-car crash during rush hour.

The crash happened at around 7.55am on Tuesday near the Kingston Bridge in Glasgow city centre.

Emergency services attended and no one was injured, however, traffic was backed up for around eight miles to Baillieston as a result.

Traffic Scotland said drivers should expect a two-hour journey from Baillieston to the Kingston Bridge following the collision, causing major delays in and out of the city centre.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "At around 7.55am we received reports of a road crash on the M8 between the Kingston Bridge and junction 22.

"The crash was between three vehicles. Emergency services are in attendance and there were no injuries.

"The area is still being cleared."
