Detectives probing an attack outside a plush nightclub which left two people injured have released an image of a man they are hunting.

The assault happened out side the Distrikt nightclub in Glasgow's Merchant City in June this year.

Two men were injured in the attack on Bell Street at around 3am on June 29 and one of them needed hospital treatment as a result of his injuries.

Officers have now released an image of a man they are hunting in connection with the incident and appealed for anyone with any information to come forward.

The man is described as white, brown hair, around 28 years old and of slim to medium build. He was wearing a black leather jacket, blue jeans and dark trainers.

A statement from police said: "Police Scotland is investigating a serious assault that occurred on Bell Street near Distrikt nightclub on June 29 at around 3am. The incident left two men injured and one requiring hospital treatment.

"Officers are keen to trace the man shown in the image above as it is believed that he may have information that can assist them with their enquiries.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Greater Glasgow CID on 101."
