Three men have now been arrested in connection with an alleged hit-and-run on two police officers.

A female officer was taken into intensive care and her male colleague was seriously injured after they were knocked down in Knightswood, Glasgow, late on Sunday night.

The pair were allegedly struck by a car on Banner Drive after responding to a disturbance on the street.

A major hunt was launched for the suspects and police arrested a 28-year-old man on Friday morning.

A second man, aged 30, who was wanted in connection with the incident, and a third man, aged 24, were detained later the same day and they are expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

The male officer has been discharged from hospital while his female colleague is still recovering after both were seriously injured.
