CCTV images of a man have been released by police probing two robberies that happened an hour apart.

The incident happened in the early hours of Thursday, September 29, in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire.

The first robbery happened at around 6.10am on Clarkwell Road then Shop Smart convenience store on Glasgow Road was targeted around an hour later at 7.10am.

Detectives have now released CCTV images of the man they are hunting over the robberies. Police say no one was injured in the incidents, however those involved were "left shaken as a result".

He is described as around 5ft 10in to 6ft, of medium build with bald or receding hair. He was wearing a khaki green jacket, black trousers, and Adidas trainers.

The man was last seen walking on High Blantyre Road then down a lane which leads on to Milton Street in Hamilton and was wearing a high visibility vest.

Detective constable David Timmons, from Lanarkshire CID, said: "These incidents left the two victims in a state of shock.

"Our enquiries have been ongoing to trace the person responsible. At this time, we believe the man pictured may have information which could assist with our ongoing investigation.

"Anyone with information as to the identity of this man is asked to Lanarkshire CID via 101.

"Alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be passed anonymously."
