Three men have been arrested over the death of another man after a disturbance.

Stewart Rexter was found seriously injured following an alleged stabbing in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, on the afternoon of Thursday, November 3.

The 38-year-old was taken by ambulance to Monklands Hospital from the scene in Victoria Place at about 5.30pm.

He was then transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow, where he died on Saturday.

Police launched an investigation and confirmed on Tuesday they have now arrested three men, aged 24, 26 and 29, in connection with the incident.

They are expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
