A man was chased and battered in the street after being rammed in his car by two attackers in a Land Rover.

The 26-year-old victim was in his black Volkswagen Golf in the north of Glasgow when a silver Land Rover vehicle was deliberately driven into his car.

He got out of his car after it was rammed and was chased along Briarscroft Road in Robroyston and attacked shortly before 11pm on Thursday.

A short time later the Land Rover was found nearby burnt out in Robroyston Road near to Rushyhill Farm.

The victim was treated at Glasgow Royal Infirmary before being released.

Police are treating the incident as targeted and have launched a hunt for the attackers.

Detective sergeant Cheryl Kelly, at Shettleston CID, said: "This would appear to be a deliberate, targeted attack and as such we are currently trying to establish the exact circumstances of the incident.

"I'd like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or anyone who may have seen the Land Rover vehicle in the area around 10.55 last night or being set alight shortly afterwards."
