A man has been knocked down by a truck in Glasgow city centre.

Emergency services were sent to Renfew Street at its junction with Hope Street at around 3.50pm on Monday.

Police said one lane was closed and motorists should expect delays in the city centre.

The extent of the pedestrian's injuries are not yet known, although the man was conscious when he was taken by paramedics to hospital at 4.19pm.

"A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At around 3.50pm we received a report of a man having been struck by a vehicle on Renfrew Street at Hope Street.

"Officers are at the scene and the man will be taken by ambulance to hospital."
