Police investigating an alleged rape of a teenager in Glasgow city centre confirmed "no criminality" had been established.

Officers previously confirmed they were investigating an incident involving a 19-year-old woman in Renfrew Street close to Charing Cross.

The investigation centred on an incident in the area at around 3am on Tuesday.

On Thursday, Police Scotland confirmed they would not be taking their enquiries further.

A spokeswoman for the force said: "The investigation is now complete and no criminality has been established."
