Still Game star Ford Kiernan has been charged with making sexual remarks towards a female member of staff at a bar.

The 54-year-old actor, who plays Jack in the hit show, is accused of repeatedly directing comments that were "obscene and degrading" towards the woman at Shilling Brewing Company.

He also faces a charge of acting in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting and swearing at the female, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Papers from Glasgow Sheriff Court claim the offences took place on August 1, last year at the premises on West George Street.

Kiernan, from Glasgow's Kelvinside, was not at court on Thursday when the case called but was represented by Douglas McAllister.

Mr McAllister asked for the case to be continued without plea for a period of four weeks.

Procurator fiscal depute Alan McArthur told the court: "Mr McAllister spoke to me prior to the case calling, there's no objection."

Sheriff Lindsay Wood continued the case for four weeks without any plea and Kiernan is ordained to appear at the court.
