Two staff members were threatened by a man brandishing a knife during at attempted robbery at a post office in East Renfrewshire.

The suspect fled empty-handed following the incident at the Premier Store on Busby Road, Clarkston.

Police were called to the scene around 1.40pm on Saturday. One of the two men who were working in the shop at the time suffered a slight injury but did not need medical treatment.

The suspect fled towards Eastwood Mains Road following the incident.

He is described as a white Scottish man who is over 6ft tall and was wearing a woollen hat and carrying a black bag.

Police are checking CCTV and have asked anyone with information to contact the Greater Glasgow Community Investigations Unit on 101 or the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
