Teacher handed formal reprimand after anti-English tweet
Anne Logue was rebuked by the General Teaching Council for Scotland.
A teacher at a secondary school has been handed a reprimand by teaching watchdogs after she posted an anti-English tweet.
Anne Logue, who teaches secondary English, made the comment about "English p****s" on her Twitter page on August 5 last year.
The General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) said the language was "inappropriate and offensive" and gave her a reprimand which will remain on her record for a year.
Ms Logue, who is understood to teach in the Paisley area, admitted posting the tweet after a complaint was made to the GTCS.
The full content of the tweet was not revealed by the teaching watchdog.
She was given a reprimand with consent order, meaning the case did not progress to a full hearing.
The GTCS noted Ms Logue had "reflected on the matter and shown genuine remorse."
The tweet was described as an "isolated incident" with no repetition.
